Counselling Therapy

We live in a world which is much different from the past, we live in a technological modern world and it comes with its pitfalls. People have more wealth and more physiological issues. This is today’s world and counselling has now become the norm, people are taking this therapy to support in thinking of their minds, to clear the imbalances that affect our minds.

One could say, counselling has been used more within the rich but, nowadays employers are making use of this therapy for their staff.

We offer Integrative Counselling Theory working through the theoretical model of Counselling - Cognitive Behavioural Theory, Counselling practice, Person Centred, Psychodynamic and Humanistic.

The area we specialise in are: Abuse, Addiction, Adoption, Anxiety, Bereavement, Cancer, Careers, Culture Issues, Depression, Domestic Violence, Eating Disorders, Heath Care, Identity, Mental Health, Minority Issues, Obsessions, Older People, Phobias, Post-Traumatic Stress, Relationship, Sex, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress and Traumas. Our aim is always in the best interest of our clients working the therapy that is required for each particular client needs. Integrative Counselling is unique as it combines a mixture of therapies as per the need of our unique clients. For us our client is very important, our aims are always for the client and our professionalism directs us towards that relationship of counsellor and client.

  • McLeod stated, “Unique for the majority of people who enter counselling. Even in short term counselling, the person is exposed to a situation in which another person will listen to him or her, will make every effort to see issues and dilemmas from the speakers perspective, will treat what is said with extreme respect and confidentiality and will abstain from seeking to gratify any of their own needs during this time.”
  • Though as individuals ourselves, who may favour a particular type of therapy, as professionals we must be flexible within our practise to be able to meet the varying and demanding needs of the people we counsel. While person centred therapy may result in a strong and successful bond being formed with one client, it may be ineffective with another who may be more suited to a psychodynamic or CBT approach. Fundamentally it must always be the needs of our clients that dictate the type of relationship formed and the approaches used. In some cases, we believe a combination of techniques and approaches is the most effective method to achieve success.
