Born in Uganda, Africa to the third generation of Indian immigrants, Dr Somani has lived in the United Kingdom since 1972, after the expulsion of Ugandan Asians by Idi Amin, then the President of Uganda.
Dr Somani is an individual who converses in many languages and has worked in public service for twelve years, hence his vast knowledge in different cultures.
Once the Managing Director of Shamir Properties, Yuleton Trading and now the backbone of APHS Group.
He has a Bachelors Degree with Honors in English Literature, Imaginative Writing and Cultural History and was awarded a PhD in English Literature. He has also achieved Masters Degree in Corporate Law and is the author of the following novels:

Dr Somani worked with Vale Royal Citizens Advice Bureau for five years and achieved - accomplished and qualified competence in:

Working through the advice process with clients – exploration, options, action and conclusion.
Working with the main enquiry areas of benefit, debt, employment, housing, immigration and nationality, consumer, family and personal.
Working to influence Social Policy change, identifying and raising issues.
Working to develop own practice and maintaining competence.
On the 8th of September 2003, Dr Somani in the presence of a two thousand specially selected audience at the Roscoe Lectures, was awarded the Citizenship Award for services to community by Mr Gerard Houllier – the Manager of Liverpool Football Club in company of Lord Alton and Professor Michael Brown. The award ceremony took place at the wonderful and impressive Anglican Cathedral in Liverpool.
